1K Kids Fun Run @ 9:45am
Reason 2 Run Danvers 5K is a run/walk to benefit cancer care and research through Dana Farber and The Jimmy Fund. The start and finish will be at Endicott Park in Danvers. This 5K is an official fundraising event for DF and The Jimmy Fund and 100% of the proceeds will go to cancer care and research.
Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow's cures through cutting-edge research.
Our equal commitment to research and patient care is unique among cancer centers and results in an extraordinary level of collaboration between our scientists and clinicians, speeding the translation of laboratory discoveries into lifesaving treatments for patients all over the world.
Statistics show that approximately 1-in-2 men and 1-in-3 women in America will face cancer in their lifetime – a staggering fact. We are all just a step away. Join our fight against cancer by sponsoring our event, which supports Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s lifesaving mission to conquer cancer.
The start will be in Endicott Park. Leaving the park through the main entrance we will be taking a right onto Forest Street, follow to end and taking a left onto Hobart Street, follow up to the blinking light, taking a right onto Pine Street then a right onto Holten Street (halfway point of 5k). Follow Holten to a right onto Stone St. Follow Stone St until the Danvers Senior Center where we will take a right over the footbridge to Highland School. Follow the paved path back to Hobart Street. Follow until the sign for Glen Magna Farms where we take a right on the part along the stone wall and follow to finish by Carriage House.
We will have volunteers and markers out to keep everyone on the course.
